Soo Eagles v. Michigan Warriors

I've been covering junior hockey since 1975.   Which, if nothing else, it means that I've been around a while.   At any rate, I have this feeling that when the Soo Eagles join the North American Hockey League effective ...

These Soo Eagles will inharit quite a number of the Travers City team so they are not like an expanstion Team so Mr. Russon they will have a "leg up" on the Warriors with out having played even one game.
I do agree that the Soo verses Flint will be a hot rivalry as you say..and might I add that your writing is very enjoy-able!

Flint has been what Randy calls a Hockeytown on and off through various Pro teams. Some teams were supported and some were not. I do not think that the team needs to be called the "Generals" how ever as Flint has had pro teams by the name of the Flint Spirits and the Flint Bulldogs.
If a persson is a "true hockey fan" well then he or she will support the big game i town which is now the Michigan Warriors. The Warriors have a Coach in Mo Mantha who as Randy says is respected in the hockey world. It will not look good for Flint as a "hockey town" next season if the Soo Eagles can draw bigger crowd's.

Jack you are correct about one thing the true hockey fan regardless of where they live will read appreciate and follow Jr.Hockey.com . In just a short couple of articles covering the NAHL and the Michigan Warriors ; last years division champions, runner up in the Robertson cup, 10 players placed into colleges and their goalie , a Flint area native, the MVP of the league and current goalie for West Point its obvious the publication is about the fans, the players and the game. Apparently the publication is more focused on the game today and not some media hype about what it was back in the good old days. Far more enlightening to read Jr. Hockey from hockey people as it is from the old redundancy of Flint print.......oh did I say that? By the way the Warriors will be there this fall coached by a former hard nose blue liner representing the proud people and city of Flint!

Pat: I think I have read more "positive" info about the Warriors from Randy and Juniorhockey.com in the last 2-3 weeks than I have from the Flint Journal and MLIVE.com in the past 2 years. Shame shame on them. I don't care though as this is where I now go to get all the Junior Hockey scoop's from Randy & Stephan.
