I keep on hearing that sevreal players from last seasons TC team do not want to go and play for the Soo and either have or will ask for trades. I wonder if the former TC GM has anything to do with this - just wondering thats all.

As far as being a "Hockey Town" Soo Michigan is 2nd to none. As for being a good "Hockey Organisation" I wood say that the Soo Eagles are 2nd to none.
I would not blame a kid who is not from Soo Michigan to have 2nd thoughs to play there how-ever. My impression of Soo Michigan is that it is a "#######" Town & I have to disagree with Randy as I have found many of the "baby boomers" who live there to be downright #### and #########. Perhaps the former Traverse City players have heard this!?!?!?!
Soo Michigan = Great hockey town in my opinion.
Soo Michigan = More ###### & ###### per capita than any city I have visited in my opinion.

Hurd,

Not sure what you have against the people of the Michigan Soo but I take offence to your blanket statement.

I work for a Michigan Soo-based radio group that owns a fleet of stations including ESPN 1400 and the people who work there are professional and of sound intelligence.

Having covered hockey -- junior and college -- in the Michigan Soo over a period of 37 years I have met quite a few residents of the town and not only have I found the vast majority to be good, honest, hardworking people, but of good character.

Methinks you should keep your unsolicited opinions to yourself and focus on your supposed affection for junior hockey instead of subjecting others to your ill-mannered rants.

Just my opinion!

Hurd-I read your very disturbing comments about Sault Ste. Marie, and I am very sorry that you feel this way, Why don't you sign your real name after your comment, give me a call and I will take you around this beautiful town introduce you to the Mayor and city Manager, show you what nice people live here, and show you how clean our city is. This is the real Hockeytown USA.

To John Bosbous:
It is my understanding that Detroit is Hockeytown USA not Sault St. Marie.

Randy, as the father of an up and coming goalie joining the Junior ranks this season, yet another inspirational article about success stories of goalies from the NA. Congrats to Pete for reaching his dream after gutting it out til the end! Keep these types of articles coming!
