NAHL showdown: Warriors v. Fighting Falcons

Separated by 67 miles of Michigan highway, the cities of Flint and Port Huron have a rabid hockey rivalry that dates back to the rock 'em, sock 'em goon days of the International Hockey League.   Remember the Flint ...

Port Huron wins this in 3 Straight as I say before altho that is not intended as a slite to Michigan. Its just that Bill warren has done a fabulos job in such a short time to turn around the Fighting Falcons after only 6 W's last year. We shall see if Moe Mantha has any trick up his sleeve but it will not be easy to win with a 17 Year old goalie imho.

If Port Huron and Flint are "good hockey towns" as there fans claim then there should be at least 1,000 fans at EVERY game in this Series.
WARRIORS WIN in FIVE!

Right you are, Stephen. This could be a thriller of a series and lay the junior hockey foundation for the Flint-Port Huron rivalry.

Well OK I will go along with a 5 Game Series just as long as the Falcons win! Good Luck to Coach Warren and the Team! I suppose that the Owner Ms. Hayes would like a 5 Game Series so as to get that extra home gate! $$$$ keeps the Team going.

On the Warriors, what happened to Goalie Branch Tiller?

Dan,

As briefly noted in my column above, Brach Tiller left the Warriors in late March to preserve a fourth year of Division 1 eligibility, should he in fact play at that level next season. Something to with his birth year and birth date, which is applicable to Division 1 but not Division 3. It is somewhat confusing, at least to an English major like myself.

Regards,

Randy

I don't think that Tiller is a D-1 goalie but I could be wrong. Gorsuc is young but has obvius ability as he started this season in the USHL. Let us hope for a rocking good series between the Warriors and Port Huron! - me too I will take a 5 gamer and then flip a coin.

Hey to Pat McEachren! Are you not going to match Marybeth Hayes's offer of 2-for-1 tickets!?!? Or some sort of a wager?

I agree that Gorsuch is a good one he just does not have the expereince of Tiller. Too bad that Coach Mantha did not know back in the fall that Tiller would leave when the clock started to tick. Mo coud have traded for another 20 yr old goalie or kept Lui Puig who got from Fresno but traded him to the "Soo" and kept Tiller instead.

Gorsuc did win his last 2 starts against PH and KZoo and as Randy stated: 76 saves from 79 shots against the Top 2 teams. There is no pressure on Gorsuc or the Warriors. All the pressure is on PH how-ever as their Coach said they handled the pressure to take 1st Place so from Kzoo so...

Just got a phone call from Warriors owner Pat McEachern, who is en route to Florida. Pat says he will check to see if Joey Battaino will be travelling to Port Huron to do the Warriors game for FastHockey.com.
