Hate to break it to you guys, but pretty much every team in junior hockey parties exactly like this. There are always a few kids who don't party with the team but most of the guys party. What do you expect when you have 18 teenagers and a few 20 year olds hanging out together all the time. I guarantee the the Texas Tornado, the Penticton Vees, the Atlanta knights, the NH Monarchs, and both teams left in the ushl had at least a few parties this year. And all those teams were successful.

If they had put as much effort on the ice as they did making this video, they might have done a little better than 18-39-3 last season.
Just a thought...

wow I'm honestly embarrassed for him. Must of been some real fun parties after all those losses. Since when does finishing dead last deserve a celebration? haha

With nearly 200,000 views of the video...I am impressed that we just got wind of it today.

They must have been celebrating their 0-10 record to finish the season in which they were outscored 55-21. BTW, I guess no one taught these guys about having respect for the team logo in the middle of the locker room floor? Maybe they can send this video out to any D-1 coaches who didn't have the opportunity to make it to one of their games.

They were having a good time, I thought it was funny.
Sometimes in life you do things for a laugh
I laughed, the kids will laugh, and the parents will frown.
This reminds me of a junor hockey team from any leaugue.

Mr. Smith: The Video was amusing at best. You are right they were having a good time, but there is a time and place for everything. With the situation that their team was in last season, I just feel that they should have been more concerned with winning games rather than trying to make people laugh. I think their record was more than enough to give everyone a good chuckle.

You can't blame the Mustangs record solely on the players. Look at the Owner, and Coaching staff, before you call our the team. They had no systems in place, they gave the IceRays fits at times and even beat every team in the conference. Now if it was Chicago or Minot making a youtube video you would have an argument. I don't see the big deal with smart phones it doesn't take much time to put something of this quality together. Also, this video was put out well after New Mexico was eliminated from playoff contention, so the whole they should focus more on hockey instead of this holds no water. In otherwords nothing to see here move along, please.

To tell you guys the truth... I think this kid has one heck of a career ahead of him.
He already has enough songs to justify a deal of his own and it is not all garbage.
"Living the Dream" may not be what the NAHL wants everybody to see, but it is honest, and the reality of the situation. Nice work kid...I hope it works out for you.

Hey JR,
Thank you for posting the link to the Gongshow video.
That is what Junior Hockey is about. You can tell the Pembroke organization sets the expectations that players need to uphold.
Unfortunately, looks like Coach Kersner does not set that same expectation with his Mustang players. Playing Tier I/II Junior Hockey is a privilege and not something that should be taken for granted. Junior Hockey is about learning and growing as a Student, Athlete, and Adult. This is why players attend community college and teams volunteer their time to Schools, Hospitals, Churches. Not sleep in all day and stay up all night.
It's no wonder Charles "probably won't get no scholarship" but glad he has plenty of "nips" (alcohol).
Wonder how this video will help New Mexico recruit Billet families for the upcoming season....

This Kid is talented and could go far. How long should those players sulk and mope around? What is the appropriate time for that? There isn't a team in any Jr. League that doesn't have an end of the season party in one form or another. If there is a team or two they are the exception.
This is an entirely new generation of kids, that happens to enjoy Rap music. Those kids worked hard and took a lot of punishment throughout the season. Yes they had a bad season, but that does happen every now and then. Let them celebrate the season of their Brotherhood. They earned that rite.
OK maybe they shouldn't have filmed it but hey.....

The trouble I would have had to deal with if there was a youtube back in the 80's.
I knew a lot of Ms. McGills, Jack Daniels, and more than my fair share of five-holes. Facebook would have destroyed my game long before the arrival at the party.
About the video... sources are reporting that the bus involved belongs to the WSHL's Texas Brahmas and was used in Feb. The video itself was shot over the course of the season, it was not any one day.
All in all, Chucky Slick has some serious potential as an entertainer regardless of the amount of nips he has consumed during his junior career. I also like the fact that he includes all the junior players from junior a to the tier 3 leagues. Good stuff and is essentially playing into the entire level of play.
He dishes Pointstreak but gives the league and experience high marks for providing an incredible experience. Yea, the NAHL is not going to like it, but in the end, the video is going to help get players to the teams.
Chucky Slick has got more attention for the New Mexico Mustangs in the last 60 days than they had in the previous two seasons. Considering that Mr Dennis has such amazing connections in Hollywood, you would think that he would pass Chucky's demo for a mere 15% of the take.

I talked to Chucky today... a really smart kid that knows what he is doing.
I can promise you all this, one day everybody is going to know his name that enjoys that type of music.
