There's a strong connection between juniors and the CHL. In some cases it's the next step of hockey for players that didn't get picked up by an NCAA team or lost their eligibility. On top of that, losing a minor-pro team in Texas can affect the presence of junior teams in the state. Some CHL teams are also strongly connected to junior teams individually (i.e. Brahmas and Oilers).

Plus a lot of people think the CHL could convert to a junior league soon(whether or not it could really happen I don't know). It may not be a direct link but keep in mind that this site is also here to help junior players, instead of just informing about them, and letting them know what is going on at the next step seems beneficial to me.

Rio would have to sit out at least a year with the goofy lease/contract with the State Farm arena forbidding junior hockey at the arena through the 2012/2013 season. Yet, we all know once that is up no way RGV will pay the travel fees they just adopted in the CHL. Should be some great reading after the Robertson Cup is won.
