The clock is ticking towards tryout time.

Six junior teams from the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League and North American Hockey League have informed Mika Media and Sault This Week of dates and places for upcoming tryout camps they will be holding.

Soo Thunderbirds, NOJHL. The NOJHL and Dudley Hewitt Cup champion Thunderbirds will be staging a tryout camp from June 1-3 at John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. For more information and/or to register, go to tbirdhockey.ca.

Elliot Lake Bobcats, NOJHL. The new NOJHL franchise will hold a free agent tryout camp from May 25-27at Countryside Arena in Sudbury. To register or for further information, visit elliotlakebobcats.net or call Bobcats coach-general manager Ryan Leonard at 705-257-0132, vice president of hockey operations Chad Vresk at 705-256-1472 or scouts Brad Boyer at 705-941-8733 or Charly Murray at 705-759-3129.

Soo Eagles, NAHL. Formerly of the NOJHL, now of the NAHL, the Eagles have finalized dates and locations for three separate tryout camps in May, June and July. The first camp will be held at Big Bear Arena in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. from May 11-13. A second camp is slated for Suburban Ice Arena in Farmington Hills, Mich. (just outside Detroit) from June 22-24. A third camp will be held at American Heartland Ice Arena in Lincolnwood, Illinois (just outside Chicago) from July 20-22. Michigan Warriors, NAHL. The Flint-based Warriors of the NAHL will hold their first open camp on June 15-17 and a second one on July 13-15. Following that will be the Warriors main camp, scheduled for July 16-18. All three camps will be held at Iceland Arena in suburban Flint, Mich. Port Huron Fighting Falcons, NAHL. The Fighting Falcons will hold a pre-draft tryout camp from May 25-27 at Glacier Pointe Ice Complex in Port Huron, Mich. For more information and/or to register, contact Fighting Falcons assistant coach Mike Bush by e-mail, mbush@phfightingfalcons.com.

Corpus Christi IceRays, NAHL. The Texas-based IceRays will begin the off-season with a pre-draft camp from May 25-27. For further info and/or to register, e-mail IceRays assistant coach Chris Mei at cmei@goicerays.com.
