Penticton, Humboldt and Portage will take 3 of the 4 semifinal positions. Woodstock and Soo will determine the last position by the winner of their round robin game.

Traditionally the western leagues and their representatives are stronger than the eastern leagues and their representatives.

While I would love to see the Soo do well because it would be very good for the NOJHL in general I just don't think they are quite strong enough as a team to really push the western based teams.
