Daily Dish: No Enforcement, No Problem

I can promise all of you this, the good folks that operate the Eastern Junior Hockey League are not going to be happy with me this week. Instead of trying to shoot the messenger, the league should clean up ...

Our readers are awesome... just got this tidbit from a Dallas area source that I think should be passed along.

Stephen,
Your latest Dish was spot on. Because of the loss of the Tornado youth teams Curtale lost $60k in salaries. He paid Murphy 30k per team to coach plus his Asst Coach Salary.

Don't forget Tony was also getting 30k for coaching the Southlake Dragons high school team. The new owner also put an end to that saying if I'm paying you I want a winner and not a part time coach for a high school team.

When he was given his contract he balked at signing because it was a pay cut. And add this to the money he lost for salaries from the Youth teams and it became obvious that one of his two assistants had to go. Thats why Bloomie took the job at the Florida Eels. And even after that Tony still didn't sign wanting more money than he was paid in the last 2 seasons. And it did all come down to a head and he and Murph will be making less this season. The owner doesn't care as much about the Robertson Cup as he does about having a winning season and putting more butts in the seats.

So Tony had to settle for less money than he has ever made before. The total coaching budget for the team had been reduced. And the loss of the 60k for the youth teams and the 30k for the high school teams will put TCs 1040 in the 'reality zone' with other NAHL coaches.

Did u ever hear how he stole his current wife by promising her her son would play for the Tornado? Only to trade him (Jake Stafford) last year?

All this while her hubby's was flying around the globe trying to keep her lifestyle up to standards.

Also assault charges were dropped.

Where there is this much smoke there is...what? No son of mine will be influenced by a coach that is often under the influence.

Tom Brigl makes other owners in the NAHL look bad with this approach. It is surely suprising that he is allowed to get away with this.Should there not be sanctions of some sort against him?
Congrats to this site for breaking the "Chill" coaching story.I am already posted with Mr.Russon.I beleive that you "scooped" the Tribune!

Stephen,

There are those damned unnamed sources again.

I can tell you that I know for a fact that at least portions of your source's revelations are flat out false, with a capital B.S.

Knowing for a fact that portions of their claims are completely false bring the rest of their claims directly into question.

Again, it is easy to put anything your little heart desires on your site as long as you are citing unnamed sources, regardless of the validity of what you write. Until you begin to name your sources or they grow enough of a sack to attach their name to it then maybe I will give it some credibility.

Would you consider removing the personal comments about the Tornado Coach from your above post. It really detracts from what I consider overall to be a great website.
