I would think that removing the sanction of a team on the first offense would be a pretty extreme measure. If a franchise shows a continued pattern of such abuse of contracts (for lack of a better trem) and it's employees, then that's different. But, as you pointed out, a breach of contract should be dealt with immediately. If a coach or employee breaches, then they're done, with nothing further due. If the team breaches, then they should be on the hook for the rest of the contract terms. Simple as that.
