Have to show your article to my wife - she was amazed that I could not get her and her daughters to Canada. Never happen in the US of A - she said. Good luck and I hope that you always have cold beer.

Sault Ste. Marie to Detroit to Toronto (and places in between) are my areas of comfort and warmth. No desire to venture any further south than Detroit or Toronto.

That's a shame Stephen, but good for you on make the best decision for your family in that situation. I, for one, will be envious of that Mexican sun as I white-knuckle it on the pitch-black dirt road adventure through 10' snowdrifts that's known as a roadie to Sioux Lookout.
