John,
No offense but... enforce the standards on the books before bragging about having them.
Tier II standards in the NAHL have not been enforced and has allowed teams to take advantage of players. $50,000+ was wrongfully taken from players in Bismark, another $15,000 in Aberdeen, and God only know what was going on in Chicago. Let me know when the refunds are issued.
Tier III standards in regards to player tuition have also been ignored. Most players play, some players don't and that is wrong.
The Great Lakes Hockey League is gone. The Midwest Junior Hockey League has taken their place within AAU.
John, I believe in your abilities to lead junior hockey, but lets be realistic about what you are dealing with.
There are major issues within the Tier III system, the NA3HL and Mark Frankenfeld have been allowed to do whatever they want. They have invaded the same Minnesota Junior Hockey League that you are braging about above.
You guys have approved NA3HL teams that don't exist and have allowed leagues to skip nationals all together.
The free enterprise system has done well in the United States... let the market correct itself. Operators that do things the right way will prevail, others will fall by the wayside...as they should.
