I have been playing hockey since the age of 6. I started playing in my local club in Casper, Wyoming. After several seasons it became clear that I needed to play at higher levels with better coaching. I tried out and was selected to play my 2010-2011 season for the Rocky Mountain Roughriders U15AAA program under the direction of Doug Smail. I was 14 when I left home and have never looked back or had any regrets. This was a tremendouse year where I really learned the game. For 2011-2012, I play for the Utah Regulators U16AAA team coached by Brandon Holmes. I was also called up that year at the age of 15 to play for the Park City Jr Moose in the WSHL. My 2012-2013 season was played as center for the Cheyenne Stampede of the WSHL under coach Marty Quarters. This season I truly developed as a player and learned what it takes to play hockey at the Junior level.
I have lived away from home for the past 3 seasons. I have grown to become very independent and a very low maintanece player. I have continued to work hard both on and off the ice. My current GPA is 3.5. I am taking several advanced classes in math and science. I truly understand that to be able to move to the next level takes a combination of skills. Not only skills in the game of hockey, but skills in life. I work to grow my skills in both areas everyday.
I am originally from Casper, Wyoming and in the off season I return to I live with my parents on our working cattle ranch. The ranch is made up of 20,000 acres. We raise beef cattle for market. It is here that I have learned the true meaning of hard work and what it means to put in your time. I started at an early age working side by side with my family doing whatever it took to get the job done.
For my future, I am working hard to advance my skillls to be able to play college hockey. In college I plan to major in architecture or engineering. I would also love to be able to give back when I am finished playing, by coaching and helping to develop younger players.
